A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of A Misspent Life: How to live creatively with collections, clutter, work, kids, pets, art, etc… and stop worrying about everything being perfectly in its place

I’m often asked “what inspires you”? That’s a hard one because the list is endless. It could be an interesting pattern or motif, a great movie, or a museum show that has absolutely nothing to do with furniture. The experiences spark images of lifestyle and home and I am inspired to create something appropriate for them. I sketch on airplanes, on the beach, at my desk, wherever and whenever I want to record an idea. It’s both an intuitive and conscious process——I turn an abstraction (a feeling or experience) into a furniture sketch and then make a studied drawing for production.
