The rubber band ball is often considered a truly magnificent act of boredom. On the contrary, creating a rubber band ball can be a great stress reliever, not to mention an interesting way to store your rubber bands until you need them. Rubber band balls can be any size and any color you want. It all depends on your imagination, your time and your supply of rubber bands. Follow these steps to make a rubber band ball.

1. Get a head start by purchasing a bag of rubber bands. They are very cheap and can be purchased at any office supply store.

   Create the center of your rubber band ball. Take five or ten rubber bands and wad them up into a ball, squeezing them together. Wrap the rubber bands with a smaller rubber band so they are joined together.

   Begin to shape your rubber band ball. Use small rubber bands at first because of the small size of your rubber band ball. Wrap the rubber band wad in different directions until your wad of rubber bands begins to look spherical.

   Use larger rubber bands as your ball begins to grow. The size of the rubber bands you use is directly proportional to the size of your rubber band ball. As your rubber band ball gets bigger you should use larger rubber bands. Make sure the rubber bands are not too large or they will fall off your rubber band ball.
