MATTER:Obsession/Repetition and Tara Donovan

We’ve made it through February, the dreary hump-month of winter. In cold weather, most of us are putting one foot in front of the other, and feeling like that isn’t good enough. But what if a simple repetition of a movement, utterance, or object led to something masterful? This week, we’ll celebrate repetition in all its glory. Case in point: the work of artist Tara Donovan. Using the simplest materials, Donovan constructs landscapes that appear organic, even when made from styrofoam cups. Behold!  td-untcupsd.jpg
