Alain Capeilere’s Modernist Swimming Pool

In 2018, the Exhibition of Domestic Pools, showcased the most extraordinary pools from private homes in Los Angeles, Spain and the south of France. The exhibition provided french photographer Romain Laprade the opportunity to photograph this fantastic 1970s swimming pool, designed by architect Alain Capeillères and built at his summer home in Six-Fours-les-Plages, France. The 25-meter pool, the pool deck and the surrounding walls are lined with more than 100,000 white ceramic tiles that bring out the bright blue of the water. Spherical lamp posts, a hammock, a curved alcove, a diving board and landscaped terraces complete this architectural masterpiece.
